NXPO recently participated in the 122nd Session of the Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP). NXPO was represented by Policy Specialist Dr. Apichat Aphaiwong who joined the meeting in Paris, France, and International Policy Partnership Division Director Dr. Pranpreya Sriwannawit Lundberg who took part online. CSTP is an S&T policy body established under the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Dr. Apichat offered opinions and made statements to various agenda items discussed in the meeting, including STI finance and budgeting for SDGs transitioning, setting the scope for challenges and opportunities of technology governance, preparation of the ministerial-level CSTP meeting scheduled for April 2024, and the European Commission (EC) – OECD Science, Technology and Innovation Policies (STIP) Survey 2023 and its benefits. He also took part in a workshop to identify issues to be discussed at the ministerial-level and high-level meetings.
In addition, Dr. Apichat also had a bilateral meeting with the team at OECD Science and Technology Policy Division discussing a project titled “Supporting STI strategy for carbon neutrality and transitions”. It is one of the projects under the OECD – Thailand Country Program Phase II. The 3-year project is expected to start in the second quarter of this year.
