On 2 December 2024, Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) hosted a press conference at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park to announce the ministry’s accomplishments during her tenure. The achievements were presented through an innovative stage performance titled “Shaping Thailand’s Future: A Year of Achievement with MHESI,” which demonstrated the ministry’s effective public engagement and its significant economic and social impacts.
The NXPO team, led by President Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, participated in the performance, highlighting NXPO’s role as a key policy driver for higher education, science, research, and innovation. The presentation focused on NXPO’s contributions to workforce development, future food initiatives, and electric vehicles (EVs).
STEMPlus, a platform developed by NXPO, has supported the growth of a highly skilled STEM workforce tailored to the needs of Thailand’s manufacturing and service sectors, while attracting foreign investment in advanced industries. This initiative has created over 10,000 new STEM jobs and provided training for more than 300,000 individuals. In the future food sector, NXPO has collaborated with the Thai FDA, PMUC, and the Food Innovation & Regulation Network (FIRN) to create positive lists for other functional claims. These lists help streamline product registration, enabling enterprises, especially SMEs to reduce time and costs. Additionally, in support of the government’s EV policy, NXPO, in collaboration with PMUC, industry stakeholders, and academia, has spearheaded the development of EV conversion prototypes and contributed to the establishment of key ecosystems, including safety standards and mechanisms to promote the EV conversion industry.
