During Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s attendance at the opening ceremony of the Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) 2025 in Singapore, the Thai delegation had the honor of an audience with Her Royal Highness. This meeting took place during their participation in the GYSS 2025, held from 6-10 January 2025.
The Thai delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Chairman of the National Commission on Science, Research and Innovation; Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, President of NXPO; Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA); and Prof. Dr. Sompong Klaynongsruang, President of Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI). The delegation also included 15 young scientists.
The Global Young Scientists Summit aims to foster networking between Nobel laureates, senior scientists, and young researchers. The event features reicipients of the Nobel Prize and the Turing Award. This year’s notable speakers included Professor Aaron Ciechanover, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry (2004), and Professor Brian Schmidt, Nobel Laureate in Physics (2011). The summit provides a platform for young scientists to gain insights into the latest scientific advancements and exchange ideas with award-winning scientists.
