On 25 February 2025, NXPO Vice President Prof. Dr. Surin Khomfoi attended a meeting at Chulalongkorn University to discuss collaboration between the Council of Science Deans of Thailand and the Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand.

This meeting marked the first step in fostering collaboration among leading academic organizations in science and technology. NXPO has been invited to join this initiative alongside Thailand Science Research Innovation (TSRI), the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT), the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (SLRI), and the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) to drive talent and infrastructure development in Thailand.

The meeting aimed to create synergy among various organizations to align with national strategies and global trends. The focus was on cultivating brainpower and manpower, while advancing technology through shared resources from academic institutions, research institutes, and science and technology agencies. NXPO plays a key role in this collaboration by bridging the education sector and industry, supporting skilled workforce development, and promoting deep tech and frontier research to strengthen target industries. This initiative is expected to enhance Thailand’s education and innovation systems, fostering a knowledge-based economy. By integrating efforts across organizations, this collaboration is poised to drive sustainable development in Thailand, reinforcing national security in food, water, health, energy, and the environment. These efforts will contribute to improving the quality of life and bolstering the country’s global competitiveness.

Furthermore, this collaboration aligns with the 2025 action plan of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), which focuses on workforce development and capacity building of higher education institutions and research agencies. This initiative supports Thailand’s ambition to become a leader in innovation and sustainable development.
