On 19 March 2025, Ms. Manunya Chunhavuthiyanon, Director of Innovation Ecosystem for Enhancing Capability of Enterprises Division at NXPO, delivered a lecture on “University Holding Company: Higher Education Innovation for Economic Advancement.” This session was part of the Quality Enhancement Program for University Council Members and Senior Executives, organized by the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The event was officially opened by Mr. Panpermsak Arunee, Director of the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Development Division at MHESI. Other distinguished speakers included Mr. Ramade Silapaprom, CEO of CU Enterprise.

Designed to promote good governance and effective management in higher education institutions, this training program includes classroom lectures (11-27 March 2025), and a study visit to Australia (25-30 May 2025). A total of 50 participants will engage in case studies and knowledge exchange, applying best practices to their respective institutions.

During her lecture, Ms. Manunya highlighted the University Holding Company (UHC) as a key driver of innovation ecosystem. NXPO has played a pivotal role in introducing the Prime Minister’s Office Regulation on Public-Private Partnerships in Projects Utilizing Research and Innovation B.E. 2566, which enables universities to invest in innovation businesses and spin-offs through UHCs. Currently, 11 universities in Thailand have established UHCs, with a combined investment exceeding 500 million THB, supporting over 100 spin-off companies and startups. To ensure the success of UHCs, NXPO is actively developing mechanisms to strengthen their capabilities and enhance investment efficiency in spin-offs and startups. These include incubation programs, mentorship, and connections to public and private funding sources
