MHESI-NXPO, Chulalongkorn University and industry partners jointly launch Thai Creator for Real Business Workshop

วันที่เผยแพร่ 1 April 2025

NXPO, in collaboration with the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University, Tellscore Company Limited, and The Zero Publishing Company Limited hosted a seminar titled “Future of Creator Economy” as part of the launch event for the “Thai Creator for Real Business Workshop.” Held at Pathumwan Princess Hotel on 31 March 2025, the event introduced a key initiative aimed at fostering the creator economy through policy design, skill development, and an enabling ecosystem for career growth.

Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, President of NXPO, emphasized the significance of the cultural and creative industries as a core component of Thailand’s soft power. By leveraging cultural heritage, this sector can drive economic value, attract investment, and generate employment throughout the value chain. The creator economy is a major contributor to national economic growth, directly impacting GDP and job creation. According to a recent survey, content-related businesses provide income to nearly 9 million Thais, generating an economic value of no less than 45 billion THB. With the rise of digital platforms and emerging technologies, content creators have become a vital workforce, monetizing their content in various formats. This shift has opened new career opportunities, offering greater flexibility suited to modern lifestyles.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Sakulsri Srisaracam, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University, and the project lead, noted that the creator economy requires a well-structured system encompassing the entire value chain—from content development to revenue generation and intellectual property management. This project aims to analyze the value chain and ecosystem to identify policy gaps and develop targeted support mechanisms for Thailand. A combination of system research and entrepreneurial skill development is crucial to ensuring that Thai creators can establish sustainable businesses and play a pivotal role in the creative economy. This, in turn, will contribute to a more diversified and creator-driven economic landscape in Thailand.

Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, Vice President of NXPO, pointed out that while arts-related online media is more accessible and relatable to daily life, science-related content remains crucial. He highlighted the opportunity to merge art and science to create engaging, commercially viable content that adheres to ethical standards. Additionally, managing the creator economy requires a holistic approach spanning the entire ecosystem—upstream, midstream, and downstream—including university education, professional support system, clear research frameworks, and ethical content production guidelines.

Mr. Vorapoj Prasanpanich, Assistant Director of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), emphasized the agency’s role in establishing a central system to reduce costs and enhance job security for emerging careers such as creators. OSMEP aims to provide support that maximizes benefits for both entrepreneurs and the public, ensuring a stable and sustainable foundation for the industry.

Ms. Suvita Charanwong, Co-founder and CEO of Tellscore, highlighted the evolving role of creators and influencers, who have transitioned from online content producers to media entrepreneurs shaping brands, society, and culture. She emphasized that content creation is no longer just an alternative career but a creative workforce with immense economic potential—provided it receives structured support. This sector also enables young individuals to leverage their skills for business development, income generation, and sustainable growth.

Mr. Khajorn Chiaranaipanich, Managing Director of The Zero Publishing, added that Thailand’s rapidly expanding creative sector, driven by RAiNMaker, underscores the importance of collaboration. Strengthening industry partnerships, shaping policies, and fostering cross-sector engagement are crucial steps in building a resilient ecosystem for Thai creators.

Ms. Rasika Paneewong, owner of the “Soft Raziqaa” channel, shared insights from her experience as a creator with a successful business. She stressed that adaptability, discipline, a willingness to experiment, and flexibility are essential traits for creators. Additionally, entrepreneurship skills are critical in helping creators navigate setbacks and develop strategies for long-term success.

At the closing session, Dr. Sakulsri announced that the Thai Creator for Real Business Workshop will be held in three provinces: Khon Kaen (31 May – 1 June), Phitsanulok (7-8 June), and Bangkok (14-15 June. The program will accept 120 participants, with online registration available at https://forms.gle/YH516aSmF3PkFAS56 from 31 March to 30 April. Participation is free of charge.
