NXPO President Dr. Kitipong Promwong led a team of experts and NXPO staff paying a visit to Bitwise (Thailand) Company Limited, a subsidiary of Bitwise Group. Bitwise (Thailand) is Thailand’s first manufacturer of inverter air conditioners under the brand TASAKI. The visit team consisted of Mr. Pradit Ruangdit, Advisor to NXPO Executive Board; Dr. Janekrishna Kanatharana, Executive Vice President of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA); and NXPO Director of Sustainability Policy Division Dr. Chalothorn Boonlua.
The team was greeted by Managing Director Mr. Somyos Keratichewanun and General Manager Mr. Pawakiat Keratichewanun.
Bitwise Group has three business segments: ODM (Original Design Manufacturer), OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), and OBM (Original Brand Manufacturer). Its operation complies with ISO 9000, 14000, 18000, 17025, and other applicable standards such as Green Industry.
Bitwise has participated in several of the government’s programs that aim to promote research and innovation such as Innovation and Technology Assistance Program and Higher Education for Industry Consortium (Hi-FI Consortium) and engaged in research collaborations with leading universities such as Mahidol University, Chulalongkorn University and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The company has set up over 10 testing laboratories with capability to test 150,000 btu air conditioners and is committed to upskill its workforce working in research, development and engineering. After the briefing, the team was given a tour to the manufacturing facility and was introduced to the company’s latest innovation, a solar hybrid air conditioner.
NXPO staffers participating in this visit included Senior Policy Specialist Dr. Charnwit Udomsakdigool, Senior Policy Specialist Dr. Srichattra Chaivongvilan, Senior Policy Specialist Mr. Asira Chirawithayaboon, Policy Developer Mr. Sujin Poonboon, Policy Analyst Ms. Chaniporn Ruengrit, and Mr. Atiwit Suwan-on, a student intern from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok.
