Government, industry and academia linked together under workforce development platform

วันที่เผยแพร่ 27 June 2023

NXPO recently welcomed the visit of representatives of the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission. On hand to welcome the visitors were President Dr. Kitipong Promwong, Vice President Asst. Prof. Dr. Poolsak Koseeyaporn, and Vice President Ms. Ratima Urthamapimuk. The objective of the visit was to obtain information on the platform for high-skill workforce development for manufacturing and service sectors as the project is among the twelve finalists nominated for the Public Sector Excellence Awards 2023.

NXPO, in collaboration with the Revenue Department, Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), the Office of Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand, and the Council of Science Dean of Thailand, launched the platform for high-skill workforce development for manufacturing and service sectors with an aim to facilitate the matching of workforce demanded by the industry and graduates supplied by universities, especially high-skilled workforce in niched fields. Skilled workforce is necessary for both short- and long-term economic development, and instrumental in attracting foreign investment.

To support the platform, STEM One-Stop Service (STEM OSS) center was established at Knowledge Exchange for Innovation Center (KX) of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). STEM OSS center functions as an intermediary between universities and enterprises to recruit talents, processes tax privileges enterprises can claim from activities such as hiring STEM workers, supporting workforce development (staff training & student training) and establishing a training center, and operates other activities initiated under the Thailand Plus Package.

The platform for high-skill workforce development for manufacturing and service sectors is available online at: www.stemplus.or.th
