NXPO Vice President Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat recently gave a presentation at the GEF-funded Technology Needs Assessment Project Capacity Building Workshop for the TNA Phase IV: Technology Action Plans and Implementation. He was invited by UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre and Asian Institute of Technology to share Thailand’s experience in the Technology Needs Assessment Project with countries participating in the TNA Phase IV, namely Maldives, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu and Solomon Islands. The workshop took place on 31 October – 2 November 2023 at Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square.
NXPO, serving as Thailand’s national designated entity (NDE) for the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), participated in the Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) Global Project Phase 1 from 2009 to 2012. The project helped the country determine its technology priorities for mitigating and adapting to climate change, as well as develop the Technology Action Plan. In 2023, Thailand is among seventeen countries selected to join the TNA Global Project Phase V, which is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
