Ecotive is a joint initiative of NXPO and Prince of Songkla University Pattani Campus, aimed at cultivating a creative ecology that empowers local enterprises. The pilot project was launched in Pattani province.
Despite being one of Thailand’s poorest provinces, Pattani holds immense potential for grassroots development, offering a pathway out of poverty. The province was selected as the pilot site for the project focusing on area-based and grassroots economy development.
Ecotive aims to:
- Provide training to develop business skills and a business mindset, covering aspects such as business planning, accounting, marketing and utilizing innovation to enhance the value of products and services.
- Offer consultation and mentorship to assist local enterprises in creating value-added products and services that meet market demands.
- Establish a collaborative network involving universities, government agencies, industry partners, and financial institutions to foster a creative ecology and provide support to local enterprises for sustainable business development.
Ecotive is expected to improve the quality of life and alleviate poverty by:
- Stimulating the economy through increased business activities and job creation.
- Drawing income from outside of the community through digital marketing for the sale of local products and services.
- Fostering collaboration between universities and community members, utilizing technologies to enhance community development and the local economy.
The project places a strong emphasis on turning ideas into viable businesses, promoting digital-driven entrepreneurship, and combining resources from the government, academia, and the people sector, to facilitate sustainable community development.
Ecotive seeks to empower local individuals to establish innovative businesses, create job opportunities, elevate incomes at the grassroots level, and contribute to the development of the local economy. The project provides skills training to community members, enabling them to integrate acquired knowledge with technical skills to establish thriving businesses. Resources and expertise are brought in from universities and the private sector, including university students, to drive the implementation, with a system put in place for monitoring, evaluation and continuous process improvement.
For almost 2 years of implementing the project at Pattani, NXPO founds that Ecotive as a local incubator who is not only training to develop skills and mindset but also collaborating all of stakeholders to support local entrepreneurs and marketing local goods and services via online and offline channels is an indispensable actor for sustainable local economy development.
