Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), along with executive officers from various MHESI agencies, including NXPO Vice President Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, visited Uncle Thanom Palm Orchard in Phetchaburi province on 13 May 2024. During the visit, Minister Supamas and MHESI top officials attended an outdoor exhibition showcasing community innovations from eight organizations: Silpakorn University, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the Department of Science Service (DSS), the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII), the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), the Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Promotion and Utilization Division, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Drive and Development Division.
In addition, Minister Supamas and the delegation paid a visit to the Phetchaburi International Culinary School to review the progress of the “One Village, One Thai Chef” project, part of the national soft power development initiative. They also participated in the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding to promote food-related soft power. The collaboration involves seven organizations: the Office of the Permanent Secretary of MHESI, the Subcommittee on Food Industry Promotion, the Council of University Presidents of Thailand, the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand, the Council of Rajamangala University Presidents, the Council of Rajabhat University Presidents, and the Institute of Community Colleges.
