MHESI-NXPO participated in the virtual STIP Compass 2024: EC-OECD STIP Compass Workshop on Data Collection, organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on 25 June 2024. Representing NXPO was Ms. Vipaporn Asavapisit, Senior Policy Specialist, who joined the panelists discussing the data collection methodology of the European Commission – OECD Science, Technology and Innovation Policies (STIP) Survey 2024 in the session titled “Testimonials from countries on data collection”. Apart from Thailand, countries participating in this session included Germany, Portugal and Korea.
During her presentation, Ms. Vipaporn Asavapisit outlined how NXPO coordinated data collection in Thailand. The process included a kick-off meeting involving all stakeholders and data curation prior to submission. She also shared the challenges and benefits of serving as the national coordinator for data collection, and success factors.
The EC-OECD STIP Compass is a platform for a biennial data collection on national science, technology and innovation policy. The portal has become the world’s most comprehensive STIP database and can be publicly accessed at https://stip.oecd.org/stip/.
