MHESI-NXPO participates in Asia Pacific Urban Energy Assembly 2024

The 3rd Asia Pacific Urban Energy Assembly 2024 took place on 4-5 July 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). Organized by the Asia Pacific Urban Energy Association (APUEA), this annual conference gathered representatives from the public and private sectors, financial institutions and policymakers to discuss the future of urban energy in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr. Srichatra Chaiyongvilan, NXPO Strategist 1, was invited to join a panel discussion during “Plenary Session – The Asia Energy Outlook”.  She presented perspectives on energy in the Asia-Pacific region and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive the greenhouse gas emissions reduction to meet national and regional goals established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

In addition, Dr. Srichattra discussed how Thailand integrated the Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) Phase I report into its various national plans and utilized the findings to develop projects supported by the UNFCCC technology mechanism. The country is currently undertaking the TNA Phase V, which engages the private sector, considered a vital driver of emission reduction for Thailand and the Asia Pacific.
