On 12 July 2024, Dr. Siriporn Pittayasophon, Senior Strategist and Acting President of NXPO, participated in “Pick Up Day! by NRIIS 2024” organized by the National Research Council of Thailand. The event was broadcast via Zoom and Facebook Live.
Dr. Siriporn discussed the integration of data within the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), emphasizing the goal of creating a unified MHESI data system that is easily accessible to all stakeholders, facilitating their utilization. The comprehensive database integrates the higher education data system (HiEd), the science and technology data system (NSTIS), and the research and innovation data system (NRIIS), comprising five datasets: personnel, research projects, research outputs, theses, and infrastructure.
Dr. Siriporn also reported that each responsible agency for the data systems has completed the tasks. She also explained the operating mechanisms, which include committees and working groups. Currently, the MHESI data integration is supervised by the MHESI Data Policy Committee. The next phase will link this database with government agencies outside MHESI and the private sector, improve the system to ensure consistency, and provide data services for government agencies, the private sector, and the general public.
