Sci Power for Future Thailand Fair now opens to the public

On 22 July 2024, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of the Sci Power for Future Thailand Fair at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. Welcoming her were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, MHESI Minister Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi and executives from MHESI agencies, including Dr. Siriporn Pittayasophon, Senior Strategist and Acting President of NXPO.

Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), the fair brings together all sectors to exchange knowledge and foster cooperation in various scientific fields to facilitate sustainable development. The event features seminars, exhibition and activities to promote lifelong learning.

Scheduled for 22-28 July, the exhibition is divided into six distinct zones:  Inspired by SCIENCE, SCIENCE for Exponential Growth, SCIENCE for All Well-Being, S.R.I. Startup LAUNCHPAD, SCIENCE for Lifelong Learning, and SCIENCE for FUTURE THAILAND.

NXPO’s exhibition on STEMPlus is featured in SCIENCE for Lifelong Learning section. STEMPlus is a platform supporting high-skilled workforce development to meet industry demands, enhancing the competitiveness of Thai industry and aligning with the government’s IGNITE Thailand vision. It caters to the needs of enterprises for a skilled workforce as well as individuals interested in skill and competency development for career advancement, enabling universities to develop educational programs that equip students with required skills and competencies. The STEMPlus exhibition provides information on tax incentives under the Thailand Plus Package, aimed to encourage foreign businesses to relocate their production base to Thailand. These incentives include a 150% tax deduction on salaries of STEM talent, and a 250% tax deduction on expenses for employee skill development. Data on workforce production capacity and workforce skillset from the higher education institutions are presented for investment planning. Information on the Online Job Matching – a project facilitating job matching for companies – and STEM One-Stop Service (STEM OSS) are also available.

Special offers to visitors at the STEMPlus booth include:

  • Quick Approval: Applications for training course and STEM employment certification submitted by 25 July 2024 will be processed by 31 July 2024.
  • STEMPlus Clinic: Experts will be available to give advice on obtaining training course and STEM employment certification for tax deduction at the booth from 22 to 28 July, 10:00 AM – noon and 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
  • Resume Submission: Students can submit their resumes at the booth for employment opportunity in the advanced electronics industry.
  • Recruitment: Companies can submit their requests for assistance with STEM talent recruitment at the booth.

The Sci Power for Future Thailand Fair is open to the public from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on 22 July and from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on 23-28 July.  Admission is free, and further details can be found on the website www.mhesifair.com.
