NXPO President Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat recently hosted a Japanese delegation to explore collaboration opportunities in hydrogen technology development in the Rojana Industrial Park. The delegation included representatives from Nippon Steel Trading Corporation, Honda Motor, Mitsubishi Research Institute, and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Also joining the discussion were NXPO Sustainability Policy Division Director Dr. Saravanee Singtong and NXPO Policy Researcher Ms. Jitsuna Darachai.
During the meeting, NXPO presented research findings and the national roadmap for green hydrogen energy technology development, which is supported by the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The presentation underscored NXPO’s role as Thailand’s National Designated Entity (NDE) for technology development and transfer under the UNFCCC framework, highlighting its contribution to advancing this project. This offered a strategy for future Thailand-Japan collaboration on the hydrogen technology initiative at the Rojana Industrial Estate.
The Japanese delegation provided an overview of a hydrogen technology project currently under development at the Rojana Industrial Estate. The discussions focused on fostering mutual understanding and identifying key areas for collaboration.
