On 6 December 2024, Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Director of Sustainability Policy Division at NXPO, served as a guest speaker in the seminar titled “Green Economy and Sustainable Development in Thailand”. The event, held at Bangkok University, featured Mr. Chakrawut Raisaeng, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Amita Technology (Thailand), as a co-speaker.
Organized by the Bangkok University Chinese International (BUCI)College, the seminar aimed to promote knowledge exchange and raise awareness about the green economy as a vital approach linking economic growth with environmental sustainability. The program placed particular emphasis on cultivating a new generation of entrepreneurs to drive Thailand’s sustainable economic development.
In her presentation, Dr. Saravanee highlighted the green economy as an integral component of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) model, a strategic framework for Thailand’s sustainable development. She also discussed NXPO’s role as a key agency for higher education and science policy, emphasizing its initiatives to advance the green economy through the Circular Economy Vision 2030 and the establishment of a dynamic innovation ecosystem.
This seminar represented a significant milestone in raising awareness of the green economy within academic institutions and empowering students and faculty to lead efforts in reshaping Thailand’s economic future.
