MHESI-NXPO unveils strategies to foster BCG enterprises

วันที่เผยแพร่ 19 February 2025

NXPO participated in the BCG Award Presentation Ceremony, held as part of the FTI Expo 2025, organized by the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) on 14 February 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. NXPO was represented by Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, Vice President, and Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Director of the Sustainability Policy Division.

The awards recognized companies assessed under the BCG Industry Model Project, which utilizes BCG indicators to evaluate business performance. This assessment helps enterprises identify strengths and weaknesses, develop improvement strategies, seize new business opportunities, and enhance the efficiency of their production and services.

During the ceremony, Dr. Wongkot emphasized NXPO’s role at MHESI in advancing policies in higher education, demand-driven workforce development, and science, research, and innovation—including the social sciences. He highlighted the work of NXPO’s Sustainability Policy Division, which has collaborated with the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), Thammasat University’s Center for SDG Research and Support (SDG Move), and FTI to create a framework that integrates BCG assessment tools and criteria into business evaluations. This framework supports self-improvement pathways and connects businesses with financial instruments and government incentives.

The BCG Industry Model Project aims to elevate Thai businesses by contributing to greenhouse gas reduction and laying the groundwork for future efforts in biodiversity conservation. Key areas for BCG promotion under the public-private partnership include: 1) R&D support, 2) financial support, e.g., low-interest loans and green finance, 3) workforce and skills development, 4) networking and collaboration among businesses, government agencies, and private organizations, 5) awareness and market development to encourage sustainable production and consumption, 6) renewable energy adoption, and 7) policy and regulatory support focusing on public policies that foster investment in BCG enterprises. Through these efforts, NXPO aims to cultivate a robust BCG ecosystem in collaboration with FTI, OSMEP, and other stakeholders, ensuring long-term and sustainable business growth.

“What NXPO seeks from today’s award-winning businesses is, first, to sustain and build upon what they have already achieved. Second, we encourage them to transition from being recipients to contributors by sharing their BCG knowledge with supply chains, factories, and surrounding communities. This will foster long-term business sustainability,” Dr. Wongkot concluded.
