NXPO Vice President Assoc. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai recently delivered an address at the Empowering Thailand’s Energy Future seminar, organized by nine research institutes within Chulalongkorn University under the Visionary Strategic Integration of Nine Research Institutes. The event took place on 4 March 2025 at Chulalongkorn University.
In his speech, Dr. Wongkot introduced the Net Zero Campus initiative led by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI). The initiative aims to engage at least 50 Thai universities in implementing greenhouse gas reduction measures. He also discussed collaborative efforts to pilot low-carbon city models, integrating insights from science, social sciences, and other disciplines.
This seminar served as a key platform for fostering collaboration on clean energy and sustainable development, reinforcing Chulalongkorn University’s role in advancing green energy and net zero emissions.
The nine research institutes co-organizing the event were the Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, the Transportation Institute, the Institute of Thai Studies, the Aquatic Resources Research Institute, the Energy Research Institute, the Social Research Institute, the Sustainable Environment Research Institute, the Metallurgy and Materials Science Research Institute, and the Institute of Asian Studies.
