NXPO recently joined a partnership of 7 organizations aiming to perform a study on digital development in Thailand. The organizations signed up for this collaboration include: 1) the Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission, 2) the Office of The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, 3) National Statistical Office of Thailand, 4) Electronic Transactions Development Agency, 5) Digital Economy Promotion Agency, 6) Digital Government Development Agency, and 7) NXPO.
The project involves the collection and analysis of data on digital development in Thailand in order to drive the country’s digital government, economy and society. NXPO will be responsible for setting the minimum dataset for the analysis of digital economy and society, designing data collection, survey study and exchange of information among member parties, as well as contributing data relevant to the scope of this joint study such as an analysis of Thailand’s competitiveness in higher education, science, research and innovation.
The MOU signing ceremony took place as part of the seminar to report results of Thailand Digital Outlook phase III study. The survey conducted from June to July 2021 reveals concerns surrounding Thailand’s digital development which include the slow digital transformation, low investment in digital research and innovation and the lack of talent with digital skill to meet the demand of e-commerce industry.
